"Beats"
This highly anticipated new album is the result of a creative burst and a renewed passion from Mark, a celebrated Israeli musician known for his unique fusion of Western classical, jazz, and Indian music. A graduate of Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, Mark has performed with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and played with jazz giants like Avishai and Anat Cohen, Omer Avital, and Shai Maestro, following his studies in Cuba and India.
The project, created over the past year, presents a range of new pieces that delve into the deep, experiential world of rhythm and Raga, inviting both thoughtful and spontaneous improvisation. It's a fresh exploration of Mark’s distinctive drum set language, built from years of global study and collaboration.
Mark is joined by his musician friends and students:
Omri Porat (guitars & melodic composition)
David Dagmi (darbuka, production, and drum recording at Seven Beats studio)
The release, which represents a new phase of playing, teaching, and exploration, was expertly mixed by Nave Ashkenazi and mastered by Yoram Vazan, with visual concept by Daniel Boggio. This new work is a must-hear for anyone interested in the cutting edge of global rhythmic fusion.
